holding up what, your upgrade. here is a fact, you are owed nothing. you came late to the party and junior you will be. dont like it, there is always Wendy's.

Why go to Wendy's when there are more then just a few other Regional parties with upgrades at or less then a year??

I think you know quite well what is considered undesirable. My upgrade is of no concern (don't let the name fool you). The influx of new pilots is predicated on movement. $40/hr is not going to be enough to get and keep new blood. Those guys at the top of the list are the ones who should be working at Wendy's. You know the type. They sit on their smartphones while you do all the work at the gate because they have given up on life. They know all the check airmen because they have been here forever, so they don't study for training. All the while they are happy making $107/hr, not realizing they can make that as a 3rd year FO at a real airline if they just got off their arse. I kind of feel bad for some of them, but I feel worse for the unsuspecting passengers that put their lives in the hands of these unprofessionals. My apologies if I am describing someone you see while you are shaving.

Time will tell if this contract makes a difference or not. The usual haters will continue to do what they do best, but I'm choosing to be optimistic. Things wont get better overnight, but as of about an hour and a half ago, a first year FO here makes more than a topped out FO at nearly every other regional. We'll see how that plays out with attracting and retaining FO's.

This new contract is great for Republic and it should've been done 5 years ago so the bleeding never got to where it is today. For those there I think it will make a difference but that's only to the people that are near upgrade and those that are already Captains. I think it stops the bleeding of tons leaving but Everyone knows the majors will be hiring big time over the next 8 years so going to an airline with a 4-5 year upgrade might not be the best career choice IF going to the majors is your goal.
This new Contract will definitely help pay people there and retain more Senior Captains and Senior FO's, but is that what the airline wants if they want to remain cost effective? I do believe Republic will need some kind of partnership with a major airline to allow movement at the top that will attract newhires at the bottom. Some kind of interview or flow would be really helpful because if not they will not be one of the places people will want to go to if they still have a 4-5 year upgrade.
