Unfortunately, we've got to get rid of a lot of the deadwood at the top of the list in order to help the junior FO's. There's not much movement until then.

Well, he isn't wrong. The top of every list is comprised of undesirables who are holding up the works. He nearly stated the obvious.
I would be careful what you consider undesirable. |

Time will tell if this contract makes a difference or not. The usual haters will continue to do what they do best, but I'm choosing to be optimistic. Things wont get better overnight, but as of about an hour and a half ago, a first year FO here makes more than a topped out FO at nearly every other regional. We'll see how that plays out with attracting and retaining FO's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This new Contract will definitely help pay people there and retain more Senior Captains and Senior FO's, but is that what the airline wants if they want to remain cost effective? I do believe Republic will need some kind of partnership with a major airline to allow movement at the top that will attract newhires at the bottom. Some kind of interview or flow would be really helpful because if not they will not be one of the places people will want to go to if they still have a 4-5 year upgrade. |
