The truth hurts....
The PSA tropical storm is being upgraded to hurricane status and despite their best efforts the truth can't be hidden anymore.
FOs upgrading out of seniority order creating the potential for a good ole' fashioned *** storm down the road. Aircraft delivery slowing... No flow, only 4 interviews per month 20 year wait before even getting to interview... Their management pilots admitting in public that they don't care if their pilots are unable to fly visual approaches Not to mention their pilot's seemingly bizarre notion that they are immune to reductions in flying, base closures, and the resultant displacements....things which every single other airline goes through at least every other year... PSA pilots as of late: http://i.imgur.com/tZOS8.gif On a serious note: for those of you who are still junior at PSA (chrisreedrules) don't get mad. I implore you to reflect on your decision and possibly make a move. We joke and poke at each other on this forum but all of this is deadly serious. Think about your long term career and realize that PSA's fake "quick upgrade" is not what is needed for you to get to mainline. A true flow means more these days than any PIC time....remember that at Envoy you can flow to AA as an FO. If you don't believe me, go look at the "who's been hired" thread on the Major forum. You think PIC time will help you get to Delta or United? Yeah, you and every single other Regional Captain and LCC pilot also has PIC time. Good luck with that....and next to military pilots with IP time it means NOTHING unless maybe you are on the friends & family plan. Street hires at AA are strictly military at this point with a token amount of family...usually also military pilots. Envoy is 30/month and/or 50% of each class...that is largely the only way in to AA for civilian guys like us. Delta? Good luck...especially if you don't have a 4.0 GPA in rocket science and graduated in 4 years (only a slight exaggeration I assure you) and United is the same except for the high GPA requirement. The bulk of their new hires are also military....that leaves a token amount of civilian guys per month. You think you and 10,000 other pilots all with PIC time competing for the same position will get you in the door faster than a flow? Nope. Soon Delta will also establish a flow..possibly with Endeavor. It's the way of the future. |

That last paragraph is the sobering truth. I'm a 135 guy so my only way to the Majors is to marry a CP's daughter (except i'm already married) or to network, network, network.
|
In a few years it won't matter what your GPA or background is, the only way to get to AA will be through Envoy, PDT, or PSA. If you want to go to AA go to a wholly owned carrier that has a base where you live or is the easiest commute, all of this other stuff is flame bait.

BS. Plenty of 135's are going to the major airlines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I have no say in either companies, but I'm beginning to think the OP is a pilot/recruiter for Envoy. He's doing more recruiting pitches than PSAJOBS now.

I have revoked your man card. Sorry. You have to crush a few 6.5's in order to get to the 8's son. |
What hurts is the 5,000 repetitive threads about this nonsense.
Bloody hell, man. If everyone craps on your thread, that doesn't mean you should start another one on the same topic. |
Everyone knows or should know you need connections, I have never left home without connections.

The purpose of this forum is to provide ACCURATE information. Nothing being said is anything but cold, hard facts. CFIs and others looking to make the move to the airlines don't need to be served delusions about sliding over to the big 3 without any military time. Again, that is the cold hard truth and PIC time won't matter. More pilots between the Regionals and LCCs have PIC time than those who don't. They are all competing for the same positions not only with each other but also with miltitary pilots. Again, these things need to be put out there. Thanks for contributing. |
Cujo says good news coming to envoy in a few weeks or sooner.
Good Luck! |

PSA is getting all the CRJ's plus there will be a selection committee where 100 of the hottest Envoy flight attendants will be chosen to come over as well. Those interested in being on the committee should message PilotRecruiter for more information.

Hey man, don't throw me in that bathwater. I'm innocent and was only making an observation. I don't fly for PSA nor have anything against those who do. |
I wonder what the title for the next PSA thread is going to be tomorrow..

That's one area where you guys are probably much better off. I honestly can't remember the last time I flew with a decent looking, young FA.

Street hires at AA have had a balanced share of regional, military and some interns. I have yet to hear of one Envoy F/O transition to AA via any flow-through. In time, perhaps, but this B.S. snake oil sales job of trying to lure in saps to Envoy to pad your ride with crap like this is laughable and any chump who flocks to Envoy based on this propaganda or others here trumpeting a pie-in-the-sky assumption-based future is truly a sucker. |
^ Oh, look who showed up. Bacon boy....Troll extraordinaire. Mr. Flow-Through himself who never had to interview.
Hiring is "balanced"????? LMAO! Sure thing, porky. |

I suppose I'll just add that to the list of people and persona's I've been declared to be. Your last sentence is as laughable as you. Here you are trumpeting a concept that you not only are using to lure in saps to your collapsing airline, it's something you obviously hope to take advantage of yourself. What does that then make YOU ? Yup........that's right. Aside from being a troll yourself, you're also an incoherent dope who contradicts his own argument.

Envoy will be downgrading and furloughing pilots by the end of the year, at least that much is certain. I hope for your sakes you can pick up the flow over to AA a bit more to minimize the number of pilots put out on the street. One way or the other I'm sure we'll throw your junior guys a bone and staple them on to the bottom of our list. There's going to be more Envoy pilots working here whether they want to or not, just a matter of time.
Perhaps he's been hanging out with RJ Pilot the King of APC B.S. ? At any rate, I don't think Envoy will furlough as attrition should cover contraction, but the upgrade schedule claimed by some on this forum is a wish list, if you ask me. That's why I've asked for someone to provide facts as opposed to sales projections. It's getting harder and harder to find a mature Envoy pilot these days, so perhaps I'm asking the impossible ? |
