Default Comair Question

I just recently interviewed with Comair and I was wondering if I heard right. Training pay is $250.00 /week . Also the training timeline adds up to 67 training days not including days off. Then starting pay is 24.45/flight hour -75 hour guarantee reserve 1yr or longer depends on what happens. ПОКА

You are correct on everything, but expect that hourly flight pay to come down once the new contract comes through.

I just got back from (CVG) a Jan. 23rd interview. The confirmation email I received said nothing about the ATP written being required for the interview, although it is needed by your hire date. I'm taking it Monday, lol. I do have my FCC license though, not sure if you need that for the interview!? It'd seem stupid to require that but not the ATP written... who knows. The interview was fairly simple. 20 minute relaxed visit with a couple Captains and a FUN COG test, lol. Seemed like the older guys had a few issues, but I felt awesome about it. It seems like the more computer literate you are, the better you'll do... just my opinion. There's really no way to prepare for the COG test, just relax and have fun and read the instruction really careful. Oh, and SIT ON THE FRONT ROW IN THE MAIN CONFERANCE ROOM! They ordered us according to our seating configuration and the guys on the front row were the first in the Oral part of the interview. Basically I was done with the hard part by 1030 and got to relax the rest of the day! Everyone who did the COG test before lunch was sweating about the HR/Tech oral during lunch while I got to kick back, lol. Just a thought, hope it helps out... (and hopefully they don't change up the order, haha)

Default Comair Interview Jan 25

I arrived the night before 7 PM. Was coming in from Los Angeles, CA. Due to the fact that COMAIR rate at Holiday Inn was sold out I chose to stay at the Hilton Hotel! The have just completed a FULL SCALE renovation it is a 4 star place. Rooms are decorated nice, new beds and linens VERY VERY VERY Comfortable. Luxurious pillow top mattresses, down comforters, duvet, and plush down pillows in all guest rooms. • All new beautiful window treatments and furniture with a contemporary flair • Complimentary high-speed internet in all guest rooms.• New fitness center with state-of-the-art weight machine and cardio equipment. All of the crews from Express Jet Airlines stay here! Across the street is an AppleBee eatery. The rate was 89.00+ tax. After I ate dinner it felt great to work out and let loose the steam and stress for the next morning. They do have a business center and indoor pool as well. They do offer shuttle service between airport and the COMAIR facility which is mighty impressive! Now for the details on the interview: First off 8:15AM start time and those getting their a tad early can get the finger prints done. Then they moved us into the conference room for a briefing on company. After that was followed by a open form on FAQ. My schedule went something like this. 10-11:30 COG TEST. It was way different then I was expecting. No way to practice really. Relax, and stay calm during it. Stay on your toes things go fast during it! Then was lunch in their cafeteria with a $5.00 Coupon which buys you a lot! I got a nice wrap, salad, bread-sticks and drink 4.98 It was stuffed and felt more then a pound . After lunch was my 1-145 schedule on the FACE-FACE. It was a 2:1 format. The team which interviewed me were great. Kept me calm as best as they could. First guy asks the HR/Scenerio based questions. 1. Why Comair? 2. How did you learn about COMAIR out West? 3. You arrive into a hotel and Monday night football is on Capt. has a drink. Your within COMAIR 10hr policy how are you going to hand this situation? 4. How did you prep for this interview? 5. Did anyone from within COM AIR or Delta help you/mentor you? 6. I see you had failed check rides: Tell me about one and what you learned from it? Then for the tech portion: A flight dispatch package was shown to me. I was asked to read a METAR, Then shown a TAF with a (TEMPO) and asked do I need an alternate (YES). Then asked to describe an airmet, sigmet and valid times. All from that flight dispach form. Given a jepp chart (IAP for LGA-ILS). Asked to give a formal brief and appropriate action. Don't foreget to read the notes. I was also asked WX is such an such prior to FAF and after can you go down. Cause I had taken a formal CRM training was asked some things about it and if I were asked to teach it what would be involved in that lesson. GS intercept AGL or MEL and what MSA is and gives. That was it. I asked couple questions about their company and seems things will be moving in the correct direction upon DELTAs departure from Chapt. 11 in April. JFK seems to be the bet for FAST removal from Reserve. It has been 24 hrs. so far but no word. In my opinion my face to face was powerful and great. The cog was difficult for me but am optimistic! COMAIR would be a great place to start!

Default Comair gouge

Holiday Inn good place to stay , However the Baymont is right next store , I would stay there ($39.00 a night) and hop the van from the holiday Inn in the morning. HR side - Why do you want to work for us ?, What do you have to offer?, What wiil be the most chalenging thing for you in training?, Pilot side > When is an alternate required? When are two alternates required? When would you use excemption 3585? Aircraft Questions : Explain the emergency gear extention on the Saab 340? What are the memory Items for inflight fire / Shutdown Sf-340 ? Some of the younger guys they asked them to Brief an approach? When can you decend below Dh with approach lights in sight( remember 100 Ft above TDZE with the terminating bars in sight. However they asked if you have the Rabbit lights in sight ? That was about it ,have a good day your rejection letter will be in the mail. HA Ha Good luck to you guys you need to find out for yourself how much termoil the airline industry is in. Good luck paying off those loans.
