Future first year pay
Hey everyone I was just interested in seeing what you guys think the future will hold for first year pay at the regionals? Will the regionals still be around in 10 years? Or will the RJ routes move back up to the mainlines.

6 months ago, only one regional was offering $30 first year pay - now there's more than a few who've stepped up. The trends over the past year have shown that all others eventually jump in the bandwagon.
$30 is not enough still, but it's an improvement.
Unfortunately, the public will suffer from from a ton of canceled flights, routes being pulled, and one or two regional going under before management heads at both the major and regional level give in and a real change happens. I may be wrong, but, just my 2 cents.

I am still trying to understand what you one really takes home on their first-second year pays. Be it Silver, Endeavor who pay $25/hour with 75 hrs guarantee reserve and/or monthly or Piedmont at $29/hr on the DHC8 it all comes to about $1,900/month.
Are most FOs at Regionals really making about $2,000/month when hitting minimums and is it reasonable to think one - with no family life - can easily fly 90-95 hours/months?

If you're at TSA, it's $35/hr at 75 hours during training. Our reserves here get used and even our line holders are averaging 85-95 hours per month. You're looking at about $2500/mo after taxes and not including per diem. That check is usually between $300-$500.
If you want to do the math yourself, take the monthly pay and deduct about 20% for taxes. Don't include per diem.

i can only speak for Piedmont.. here you'll do 2 months on RSV at most. Our lines all pay between 85-95/hrs per month. Throw the signing bonus of $5,000 on top of that and it's livable. Pick up premium open time for 200% which is minimum 8hrs per day of pay credit. Refer a pilot to PDT once you're employed and you also get an additional $5,000.
