Hey Guys,
Opportunities have arisen and I was wondering what job I should take. SkyWest or Mesa? I want to be based in Phoenix because my family has a vacation home in Scottsdale and I could just live there for free? Which airline would you pick based on: pay, QOL, and highest chance that the base stays open for the regional. Thanks The exception is Compass and their LAX domicile, but that is definitely an anomaly and not the norm. |
The one and only reason anyone should even think about Mesa is if they absolutely freaking have to live in PHX.

Mesa is where the washouts, unhireables, and otherwise rejected go. It's the boneyard of Regional pilots. And their practice of hiring "questionable" people is needed to support their extremely low pay and quality of life. Pilots who can't be hired anywhere else won't be so choosy about "little" things like pay and long term career potential.

I wish you would say that to some of our guys who have flown in Afghanistan under, let's just say, less than favorable conditions. In fact I'd love to see it, but I'm guessing you're too big of a coward when you step out from behind the computer. I have to say I am a little surprised hearing this from an Envoy pilot. I thought you types had more tact than that. |

Sorry you're miserable. Try not to take it out on everyone else. |

Lol. Mesa pilot here: Bachelor's degree from a major university, no criminal history, no failures, no FAA certificate action, letters of warning, incidents, or accidents. Haven't flown with any of the types you've described in your post.
