That is also a negative. If there are no set rules, you are at the mercy of the Cheif pilot and how his/her day is going, or if their dog died, or are going through a bad divorce. I have friends at Skywest who have told me that if you call in too many times, you are scrutinized and questioned more.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, at XJT (which has a commuter clause), you are allowed to call out 3 times in a rolling 12 months if you have one flight that has at least one seat available (JS counts) 36 hours before departure that also gets you in 15 minutes before showtime. If you give yourself two flights, then you can call out unlimited. In either case, it will NOT count against you as an attendance event. Lastly, the commuter clause also applies to commuting by ground. So for example, if you are contemplating making your 2 hour drive to ORD in the middle of a snowstorm, you can use the commuter clause as well.

Remember, Envoy has the same flying Benefits and priority boarding as AA employees and you will be ahead of all the other airlines for the AA JS (AA/WO) commuting is not fun ..good luck
