Default ATP Written Question

Howdy,

I'm reviewing my ATP written and since the FAA's clarifications are as easy to decipher as Turkish tea leaves I have a question and will for some curious reason will probably have a few more in the future.

Question:

There appears to be two limitations on new CAT II pilots:

1) The reg about until reaching 100 hrs you must add 100 ft to DH/MDA and 1/2 mile vis. (CFR 121.652)

AND

2) The one about the DH is 150 and not 100 until 3 ILS approaches within 6 month. (CFR 61.13)

So, it would appear that upon completing your (Item 2) 3 ILS to 150' in 6 months, that your reward is item 1: And you still have to add 100' and a 1/2 mile. Is this correct?

How can I see and understand this reg clear and not FAA 'Clear' but normal well adjusted mankind clarity?

Thank you in advance. And I apologize if I have placed this question in the wrong place. This is my first posting and I'm still as you might say, limited to a 150' DH.

Warm regards!

If you are on high captain minimums (<100 hrs PIC in type), add 200, 1/2 to the lowest approach minimums you are eligible for.

Sooooooooo, if you haven't completed item 2, then your lowest minimums are 250'.
