Like it or not, there is and always has been a hierarchy amongst airline pilots, with mainline pilots at the top. You might not like it during your short stint at the regionals, but when you have a much longer career at mainline, being continually sh#t on by regional pilots will get you irritated in short order. It's human nature to looks for ways to retaliate against those who sh#t on you and if keeping you at a regional by blackballing you at my mainline, then so be it.
What are you talking about? Mainline sells the seats in the back. They don't control the pilots or the planes or the jumpseat of their regional feed. You want to control that then have Mainline buy the planes themselves or buy the damn airline and put it under one list airline and have Mainline Pilots fly the plane. I'm sure nobody will be against that.

Until then suck it up poor boy. Nobody cares how you feel!

You will care when you are trying to get on at mainline.

Cz airmen is a tool^ disregard everything he says. Entitled much?

Short stint at a regional? Maybe in your time, but this day in age there is no saying how long or short our stints will be especially when applying for years straight making a fraction what you guys make. Leave it alone, seriously "dude".

Tell that to 15 year captains that have been applying to the majors since day one.

Almost every 15 year regional captain, when going through their backgrounds, will be found to have "issues" that have prevented them from getting on with a mainline.

If you think you need to upgrade to get hired at a major "while the hiring is big" you're mistaken. The paycheck is probably the most valuable part of a quick upgrade.

I'm leaving for Mainline beginning of next year and believe me I know the game. Of course anyone is disappointed if they don't get home, but it is what it is. I'm not going to get a attitude over a rule that's been in place way before you and I even started flying planes.

Mainline wants me to work bad enough and I can't get on then they'll SP me on the flight since like you said they own the seats in the back.

Until then you might want to get some cheese for that whine.

I don't? Even only one speeding ticket ever and it was thrown out. 4 year degree, no failed check rides.

You don't know everyone's story so your blanket statement makes you even more a idiot.

Yes, and if you upgrade in 1 year it will be better then any FO's pay at another regional right?

Plus you'll be getting PIC time.

Don't listen to Czech, he's just trolling you guys. The company that buys the lift doesn't give a damn about their pilots so what he's talking about will never happen. The jumpseat system as it exists is pretty fair. It's never fun to get beat out for the jumpseat, but even when a regional guy offers to let me have it over him on his own airline, I wouldn't take it from him unless I had a family emergency or something. I doubt any normal line pilot has the authority to "blackball" you at mainline either. I can't imagine going out of my way to walk into the chief pilot's office and tell them not to hire some random guy they don't even know exists and who maybe hasn't even applied much less them actually wanting to hear that BS from a line pilot. ..........a mainline pilot of almost a decade who remembers where he came from
