Fixed it for you. I almost have enough people junior to me to make me a line-holder in CMH and I haven't finished training yet.

Or did you bust the interview?
To the O.P.: where do you live? If you take the 145, you'll most likely be based in NYC. As far as the 145 goes, I'll believe its demise when i see it. IOW, never mind the trolls.

QOL is relative- some people might say an extra 20k in your pocket is worth the commute. Personally being a commuter, I would probably give up 20k to be able to drive to work. With that said, next on my list of QOL preferences is days off. This new contract has given me 2-3 more days off a month.
Upgrade times are always changing- sure RAH doesn't have the quickest upgrade, but to have quick upgrades you need people leaving off the top and people coming in the door. There has been a steady stream of people leaving (granted some FO's) and this new contract has created some buzz and has put people in new hire classes. It remains to be seen how it plays out, but it's always better to be on the front end of a wave than to try and get on the train when it has already passed.
Work rules are now at least at the top of the regional industry as far as trip/duty rigs, cancellation pay, as well as other things. We'll see how SAP is implemented, but that could be a nice QOL boost as well.
Culture still has some stuff left to be desired. You're always going to have the people who (rightly so) don't trust this management after being jerked around for 8 years and BB is never going to fess or take the blame for things that happened in the past. It's a publicly traded company and the employees are more often than not going to feel like their in the dark on most "plans". Take that for what it's worth.
Pay at other regionals is the only thing I hope you're right about. It would be great to see RAH as the bottom feeder again tomorrow so we can either price the regionals out of existence or actually get paid what we're worth ($40/hour plus $20k signing bonus is getting close to a good starting yearly salary).
But to the OP- as others have said, you're going to need to make your decision based on if 20k is worth it to get based in NYC on reserve for an unknown amount of time.

I have yet to meet anyone that I've talked to at the majors who have said a single thing about the type of plane you're flying impact anything along the lines of potential jobs. Proof of this is a 26 year old street hire at American who flew 1900s for lakes and still got picked up. If you think that you're more desirable because you fly a big shiny jet with engines under the wing vs any other jet/turboprop you are sadly mistaken.

This is why message boards suck, you have a few Kool-Aid drinkers calling you a troll because your opinion is different than theirs. I remember that back in Feb I made a reply telling all the chicken little posters that the 145 was NOT going away in 2 months. I was just as correct then as I am now.
QOL is subjective yes. That's why I said if you live in IND then disregard the negatives. And Loon, we all know you are SDF 145, just remember you are the EXCEPTION not the rule. Most people aren't that lucky. But, unlike many of the negative posters on this board I'm not attacking you for it, just pointing out facts.
Upgrade times are still one of the longest, and we all know they change on a dime. It could drop to two years if they can staff it. Or it could go back to 7 if they can't. Again what I said was true when you look at PSA TSA Compass ect all at sub 2 year upgrades.
I think we all agree on culture, moving on.
Work Rules, I don't like them, it's my opinion. Everyone is different, how is it baseless or trolling to think rules are better elsewhere?
Pay: It's not bad, and considering you get that pay AND a bonus, that's nice, but you gotta believe SkyWest and the rest will match it soon as RAH starts stealing their candidates. And that's BASICALLY what I said without going into that much boring detail.
Now please don't bring the flamethrowers out, it's just waste of time.

Ok, to give some more information.... I live in Cincinnati so I'd much prefer to be CMH based, although IND would work too. Quality of life is very important to me. So much so that I would rather take the smaller bonus and the 175 to be CMH based than take the larger bonus and have to commute. Also, at express jet, I've been on reserve for almost two years so I'd really like to hold a line.
From previous posts, it sounds like if I'd take the 145, I wouldn't be CMH based and be on reserve for a while. If those both are true, then I'd take the 175 and smaller bonus.

CptGSXR, I can agree to disagree with you on most of the stuff you said. Thank you for the more detailed response because when you just write short negative responses without backing it up, that's when you're venturing into troll territory. I am no way an RAH kool-aid drinker, but I think we are pulling ourselves out of the dumpster fire we were in since 2003. I think at least 76% of us want to move on and make this an attractive place to work so we can get out to greener pastures as soon as possible. No disrespect to our former NC as I think they did a great job getting us most of the way to the contract we wanted. Unfortunately we hit a major roadblock with the NMB.
