For those of us new to the game, FARs require 1,000 TSIC minimum to upgrade to CA. Whether you fly 10, 30, or 90 hours per month is between you and the regional you choose to fly for.

No, they require either 1000 hours of 121 SIC or 1000 hours of PIC in 135.243(a) operations or certain 91(K) operations.

Assuming that's true, it will be 2.5 years for folks hired 2.5 years ago. Folks hired next week may have a different experience (better or worse, hard to say).

AWAC ∞

Cuz by the time you upgrade, AWAC will be gone. :-(

Jk, they say 2.5 years (same as they said for the FOs hired 5 years ago)

Same can be said for XJT, don't come here unless you are a gambler or live in a base. Upgrade is 9 years and increasing with 14 year guys on CA reserve.

How about Endeavor, Republic, and Horizon?

Ideally, say for RAH.
What would is the projected upgrade time taking into consideration the removal of the E145's, Q400's and merger with Shuttle?

I've been wondering the same thing. Republic and Shuttle pilots are on the same seniority list, but if RAH were to remove all of the 145s, and all of those pilots move into the 170, I would assume that would be a nightmare for someone getting hired right now. As for the Qs, that really shouldn't make a huge difference since there are only 5 still operating.

Currently, the most junior captain on the Republic side is an April 2011 hire.

Compass' junior CA is April 30, 2015. Does that mean it's an eight month upgrade? No. I would expect it to be around two and a half years for a new hire if we don't see any additional growth.

Right now the training pipeline is filled with transitioning folks coming over from the Q, some from the 145, and just a few new hires.

I'd say 2 years with endeavor. May be as little as 1-1.5 but by current size and guaranteed movement, the number skirts up to 2. If the published plans from DL pan out it'll be 1-1.5.

There are a lot of transitions occurring at the moment, but there are nearly as many new hires coming on board at the same time. The only limitation on training is space at the training center and at flight safety. The new training center coming on line this spring should alleviate some of that pressure.
