Dont take me for 100% accurate here guys-this is me trying to remember a conversation i had over a month ago and i'm sure i am missing or distorting something. What CBreezy and tennisguru said up above makes sense and is likely what would happen if a program like this was started.

My girlfriend's father is a LUS AB CA and while they were visiting the ASU flight school together they ran into some kind of AA big shot who was there discussing details/logistics about the new program with the university/aviation dept. This was a month and a half ago and from what i remember him telling me they are having a program with AA seniority numbers being given out as soon as entering into the program. UND is also pretty much confirmed to be participating. This is what he told me so don't shoot the messenger

Is that what Envoy recruiting is saying? It wouldn't surprise me. But the 100% truth is that no one has an AA seniority number until they're actually in training at AA.

Speedbird! I told you that in confidence!
Joking aside, the idea was discussed some years at Eagle during the AA bankruptcy. Seniority Numbers are "owned" by APA and their response to the idea was, "If you want to give them AA seniority numbers, make them AA pilots." We fear another regional "taking" our jobs, mainline pilots fear all the regionals taking their jobs. (And with good reason). Doug Parker would have to pay dearly in order to get APA to allow them to hand out APA seniority numbers to college students. I don't think Parker would ever be willing to pay the price APA will want. In the end, giving a seniority number to a pipeline student serves little more than to solidify the process of flow. AA/UAL/DAL had thousands of pilots furloughed with seniority numbers during the Lost Decade.

Don't quote me, but I think so. With the flow isn't a new Envoy pilot basically given an AA seniority number? Seeing as there is no requirement in theory to interview, at AA when your number is called?

Envoy told me when you go to AA, your seniority starts over at the bottom of the pile. The flow gets you the job, not a jump on other new hires.

No. Your flow time is highly variable and you do not get a number.
