Apply to Atlas if you have the time and screw the regionals. If hired into the 74 you will be ANC based. If hired into the 76 you won't be ANC based but the company will buy you a ticket to your domicile (most likely CVG) plus there are plenty of flights on company a/c.

Good evening!

I am in the process of applying to all regionals that have direct flights from a domicile to ANC.

As of now I am looking at Compass, RAVN, Endeavor, and Horizon.

I am not smart on every 121/135 carrier I could jumpseat on so I know there must be more domiciles available other than SEA, MSP, PDX.

Any insight on 121 carriers that have domiciles with a direct connection to ANC would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

ANC is an easy commute. PSA is hiring and CVG is one of the junior bases with many flights a day between ANC and CVG. PM if you want more info.

That's a terrible idea. He be better off commuting to the northwest.

Raven would be my first choice.

Why would you go anywhere else?

If you live in ANC, there's also PenAir and Empire. Last I checked, both are hiring.

Penair isn't a sure bet to be Anchorage based right now. Out of our recent new hire class, some are based here and others in Portland. With the PDX expansion, and a possible IAD base there is no telling where you will be based.

However at the moment the upgrade is pretty quick. I was hired in August of 2014, and start upgrade next month.

Atlas is a great option...skip the regionals...

Thank you everyone, exactly what I was hoping to find!

Home basing is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Avoid life at a regional at all costs, if you must go to one, pick Horizon and be Anchorage based. Horizon in ANC does nothing but day trips so you would be home every night. NEVER commute for a regional, its not worth the added stress due to the low pay and crappy work rules. However, pull one weekend drill in the ANG and double your regional salary.

I would consider Atlas above any regional carrier provided you have military experience and know how to cross the ocean. 747 based in Anchorage, sit reserve at home.

Ravn and Penair are all day trips as well.
