By forcing people to accept what you think is acceptable and Christians, don't think being gay is ok. Now not judging as it's not my place but I still think it's wrong. I have gay friends and get along fine with them still hangout and they know how I feel. My religion says it's not ok to be gay or a transgender and it also tells me to love everyone and not judge because sin is sin and we all sin. But LGBT keeps shoving it down HR's throat and America's throat forcing me to accept it and I don't. In America I should have the choice be able to exercise my religion freely, I am losing that right daily! By forcing a business owner who has invested in his company and forcing him to make a cake for a gay wedding when it's against his religion it takes away his rights. I got an idea go to a different bakery, who cares. LGBT will sue and force that owner to make them make a cake how's that right? You get the privlige of exercising your first amendment right. As a straight person if I say it's wrong and don't agree with being gay I can lose my job! So I don't have first amendment rights anymore! Thus LGBT is taking away my rights! Now I agree with you that you shouldn't be able to be fired because your gay who cares.....but if you are a lazy worker then hands down they should be able to fire you (not saying your lazy just using it as an example) let me once again reiterate I don't care that your gay or a transgender but I should be allowed to think and say I don't agree with it per my religion. Again being gay is not between you and me and doesn't bother me I'd hang out with you and have a beer. But forcing me to accept it isn't cool either. Everyone has an opinion and are entitled to it. I shouldn't have to shut up just because you don't agree....make sense? I'm not trying to be rude mean or bully you in any way but, I feel LGBT is taken it to far.

On the cake issue... the whole thing is stupid, I think. I'm a bit torn because it is tricky for me personally. If someone doesn't feel like making a cake for a gay wedding, I don't really see why we need to force them. Let people have their opinions... the problem is they're offering a service to the public and we wouldn't really tolerate a business putting up a sign that says "no blacks, no jews, no muslims"... On some level I wish we could find a better solution like, "Look, I'm not comfortable making a cake for your wedding because of my beliefs. There are plenty of bakers in this town that specialize in gay weddings. I'm not refusing service and if they can't accommodate you I will, but would you please consider using someone else?" Idk.. I have very mixed views on the issue and it's a tricky one because I agree that tolerance goes both ways. The bathroom issue is far more cut and dry for me, because it's so stupid and it's just a basic right. And I can't empathize or understand the transgender thing at all, I have no friends that are trans, and it's hard for me to understand it, but I don't think they have a lot of choice in the matter either.
"As a straight person if I say it's wrong and don't agree with being gay I can lose my job!"
I mean, that's the decision of the employer though, you don't have free speech while working for a company. On your own time, you can say what you'd like and enjoy 1st amendment protections, but I can't tell my boss to his face he's a cheap jerk and then claim first amendment protection when he fires me for what I said. Totally different issue. And nobody's trying to shut you up, I'm happy to have a reasonable dialogue about the issue and explain why I think you're wrong and hopefully educate you a little on it. And at the same time learn something from your views as well and understand why it's such an issue for you for example...

Your religion is not an excuse to deny anyone of their rights.

Well said. I love it how not wanting to be discriminated against is to him having their values shoved down his throat.

If we did that, they'd still find something about it to be offensive.
If you're gay and not indignant about something,..... you're not tryin'. It's called "drama".
I'm waiting for them to tell us it's offensive to be called "gay" and that we need to find a more P.C. term to use, (or NO term at all). It's coming!
You're here, you're queer, we're use to it. Nobody cares anymore. Get over yourselves.
