Any idea as to the fate of the CLE base and how hard it would be to get it out of training?

 

They've given quite a few new hires CLE right out of training. Shouldn't be a problem.

A bright future of plane transfers and a drop dead date of dec 31st 2017.

 

Dont meen to deflate recrutment efferts but they seem to be the last to know future plans.. Things even at SkyWest are on the move. Hinted today without saying it the PDX CRJ base will close and PDX will be all ERJ. But they still won't come out and say it... Same with XJT. They need to staff it now and for the next 2 years. But they will never come out and say. "But there is a likley hood in closing one of the DFW bases. ASA or XJT's. Still very vague.

 

This. Don't fall for the hype. Until our overlords in St. George are gracious enough to send more flying our way (don't hold your breath), this place will just keep getting smaller and smaller, even though they feed us tripe about how United "wants us around". Riddle me this- if they want us around, why are they transferring so many XRs to Commutair and Transtates?

 

Ha! this really gets to you.

 

The smart person can see through the smoke screen. Why would they come out and say they plan on shrinking or winding down. All that would do is accelerate attrition and shrink their timeline for whatever their plans may be. Take a good look at their parent company and their feelings on unions and you'll understand why one side is growing and the other side is shrinking. They just want to do it in a slow and methodical manner.

 

100% agree. I had a little hope when we were running Branded. After Inc bought us, the writing on the wall was painfully evident.
