I dont undertsand why not, Colgan has a smaller tight knit pilot group, seems to me that would make things easier

Oh whats this, we have another certificate now? Wonder how long it will take to convert piltos from saab 340's to crj 900's. They have been making crap money for so long they'll like that 50 seat rate.
believe it or not our current scope clause holds us to flying them with pncl crews- colgan/nor any other operating cert can do it. I am sure this is one of the issues with the current contract negotiations. Buying colgan was out of left field- but sorry guys- you wouldnt be able to fly them UNLESS the flying is given to colgan, which is even less likely than PNCL. PNCL holding corp cannot win RFP's- only PNCL or Colgan. Plus, it would take soo much longer to get a saab guy from colgan trained on a -900, not to mention the issues with PNCL being self insured. The big issue there is 500 in type that the vast majority of PNCL pilot already have and the need for only a few days of differences training as opposed to an entire new training to a CL-65.

Don't underestimate management. NWA gave Mesaba -900s. Why not give them to Pinnacle, since you are the CRJ operator. Make sense? No.

Just wait in a couple of years CAL guys will give away the scope on 50 seat jets and Colgan will be flying 190's for cal, for 50 seat pay, you wait and see
