Comair New Hires
I am starting at comair. Was hoping to hear from anyone in training or just out of training to see how it was. Schedule during training, Length of training, flight benifits during training. Anything will help. Thanks

I started class on December 14, and am finishing up in the sims next week. Then off to IOE. Ground school schedule will most likely be M-F 8am-4pm, unless you have a big class then they could split you into mornings and evenings. Sim schedule will be all over the place. I personally have the 8pm-2am sim schedule which I dont mind. Training will be about 8 weeks and your flight benefits start 30 days after your first day of class (your date of hire). Have fun in training, I really enjoyed it. We have some terrific instructors here. PM me if you want some more info.

Training is about 2.5 months roughly. Schedule is Mon-Fri with the exception of the launch program, until you start sim training. Then, it's anyones guess what your schedule will be. You will bid for it. Flight benefits start on your 31st day of employment.

I have an interview at Comair and am a little nervous to take it for two reasons.
1) I'd like to potentially fly for Delta one day and heard due to the RJDC crap Comair pulled 5 or so years ago, wouldnt hire a Comair pilot; and
2) The financial future of Comair, I feel, is a little uncertain.
Also, word on the street is the new TA has an 11% paycut for the pilots in it.
