Current Mesa Airlines first officer. This months wraps up my first year and my W2 shows that I will make $22,349 including per diem, not including taxes. I have a family of six that I need to feed and my wife is currently unemployed as daycare costs are too high. I'm on government assistance for food, and live in housing provided by the government. My health insurance costs are over $1300 a month and I'm in $49,039 credit card debt. On the road I'm forced to eat stale crackers and due to malnutrition I'm often unsafe for duty.
First off I would encourage all potential new hires at Mesa to not show up, and give no notice.
Mesa is a hazard. The pilots are not safe. First officers cannot speak English. Most captains are lifers as they aren't college educated. There is no career progression at Mesa Airlines. Understand if you go to Mesa the best career you will have is a first officer at a ULCC.
The CEO, Johnny. If I ever see that coke dealing son of a ***** on the street I will put his teeth to the curb and stomp on his head. JO is worthless and does not care about the pilot group.
Insurance costs are high. Pay is low.
We still require a training contract. What a ****ing joke.
On December 9th there will be a informal picket at DFW. December 10th there will be a sickout. If you're unsure what a sickout is, PM me.
I will be going on disability for depression thanks to MESA.

Why are you still there? Go to literally any other regional (except great lakes) and you will make significantly more money. Or just find something outside of aviation. At this point, almost anything would mean a pay raise for you. And you need one badly, if for no other reason than to be able to afford condoms
