Also, with the Harvey Watt plan thru SkyWest you also get their medical consulting and advocacy services included. Aparently it's headed up by one of the FAA's former top level flight surgeons, that will advise and lobby on your behalf to get your medical reinstated.

Once you get out of your '20's it starts to get expensive. Haven't check in awhile, but use to be about $400 a month for a Capt in their '40's.

It doesn't matter who heads it up. CAMI hurries for no one.

After doing the math on the insurance the only way it is a benefit is if you become permanently disabled as in can't work any job. The deduction of any other income kill any positives to the plan.

I've looked, but where did you find the small print saying that? Or any other small print on the SkyWest plan? The HW website doesn't seem to offer much beyond that flyer.

Honestly, you are better off putting the premium cost into a money market account and building your own insurance policy.

It's in the Q&A RJ sent out. The lack of information on the plan is enough for me not to sign up.

As someone states, make sure you read all the fine print and the conditions for payment. Insurance companies are happy to take in your monthly premiums, but when it comes time to pay up you may find their enthusiasm is lacking.
