Doesn't seem that bad then... I got a whole lot of research to do still, main thing I'm concerned about is QOL and being able to drive to work.

MIA has the most AA flying out of all RAH bases and it's been on the increase for the 5 last months in a row, including Jan 18 (its all on Market Planning for your info). so, don't care what BB says, been in the company for 2 years.
What's scary is that you're spreading as much wrong info as the company recruiters.

New hires need to be careful with those company recruiters fed on cool-aid as well as those bitter burnt out guys.

Not burnt out at all. I’m on my way out the door, but you sound like a recruiter. 11 months to hold a line right now in MIA, and that’s waiving single days off, and senior guys bidding reserve to get time off. Envoy is growing in MIA, and Republic is most certainly not growing.

You don’t care about what your management says? Lol funny you have a lot to learn.
I get it you upgrading depends on the right seat getting filled. Maybe you should help to improve the place, by supporting the local.

If you’re going to Republic for the MIA base, then I suggest to research the history of the MIA American flying. Also look at how many bases republic opened and closed over the last 10 years. If you want a MIA base, then your choice is pretty much Republic or Envoy. Maybe ask a few questions on the Envoy forum. Good luck

Miami is growing, Miami is shrinking. Losing flying to envoy, not losing flying to envoy. 2 years to get Miami, 8 months to hold Miami.

What is the truth about MIA? Lol

Miami is our largest AA operation (based on average daily departures). We have a lot of outstation bases that have to fly out of a "hub" at some point. The conspiracy theorist in me says that as the weather starts getting colder more of that outstation flying goes south making the Miami base lose lines. I haven't been tracking our flying in Miami for long, but it doesn't seem like we are "losing" flying. (Taking off my tin foil hat)

The problem is Miami has been a pretty big recruitment tool. I have encountered numerous guys at our more junior bases who are waiting to be based in Miami. These guys are pretty fed up and I think the numbers are starting to show them leaving for Envoy to collect a nice bonus check and have a better shot at being based in Miami. I believe now is a decent time to make that decision, however like all high demand bases, it will probably get saturated at Envoy as well at some point. It will always be a moving target but I don't think we are in danger of losing our flying there, it's just which base is staffing the flying.

No doubt we are losing FOs to Envoy for the MIA base. If the company was smart, they would shrink some of those outstations and expand MIA and ORD. They just need to show some growth in the hubs, because everyone doesn’t live in a outstation. I don’t think Republic uses base location as a recruitment tool. Look at Denver, and Louisville.

Best bet is to go to Envoy and remember Envoy is owned by AA, so I would suspect we would lose flying before Envoy.

funny how last time this happens they closed their Wholly-owned airline base and reduced their flying in MIA to give it to... RAH.

American airlines are unpredictable, independent or wholly-owned, nothing is ever guaranteed. All regionals are controlled by the 3 Legacy who decide where and when they need flying and thus, influence/control where regionals, wholly or partially owned, independent, open or close bases.
