Generally speaking MIA is not good for commuters. Also their gate agents are some of the worst in the entire country. Yes JetBlue is a viable option out of FLL but that would require you to drive up there and deal with parking or get dropped off. Spirit and Delta are hit and miss out of there. I would avoid anything involving JFK or Newark, adding ground transport is just going to complicate things even more.

I would agree that EWR is kind of a pain to get to, but JFK-LGA is very doable using public transportation. Airtrain to Jamaica, subway to Jackson Heights, Q70 bus to LGA. It's a lot easier than it sounds.

Hi, all.

I just got hired on and have a class date in the beginning of September. I'm leaning towards requesting LGA as a base and commuting out of MIA, where I live.

I would very much appreciate any advice on the feasibility of the above. Also, does anyone know if parking is paid for at MIA? And lastly, as a new hire, how often could I realistically expect to be home. (I've got a baby on the way, and this is a bit of a concern.)

Anybody else doing something similar? How's the QoL?

Thanks in advance!

How long did it take to find out that you got the job?
