Hiring min's say ATP written. True or not? Should I just get it knocked out either way?

Not true, they give you the CTP-ATP. I would wait if I were you.

I’m pretty sure you have to complete an ATP CTP course before applying for the ATP knowledge test.

So here's how it works. They put you through the ATP-CTP and make you pass the written a week before your day 1 of indoc. During that time, you are not an employee. To get HIRED, you need the ATP written, which the company will provide for free, pre-employment.
Date of hire is your day 1 of indoc.
