You're going to be told you need to come in with 44 hours. As far as anyone knew, that was and still is true. I believe the 141/military guys were being told they could come in with 25 hours.
However, the last several Indoc classes have had people who were short on TT or multi time. I was one of those. During our first 3 days, we were told that Republic would pay for the remainder of the time during the break, and that it would not come out of our bonus like the Flight Time Initiative would. This was unfortunate for those that used the FTI to get their hours, only to be told if they hadn't, they'd be no worse off with respect to class dates, but wouldn't be out the money off the back end of the bonus.
I would say no one can say if that will continue, and if so, for how long. It seems, based on other things posted in here about class date postponements, that Republic is actively working towards a solution to reduce or eliminate the training delays. It is logical that once those go away (or nearly so), the accommodation for those short on hours would, too.
Bottom line is I'd try to come in with 44 before ATP-CTP. If that's not going to happen, and you're in a class that will have a delay, call and talk to one of the pilot training managers; they'll likely be able to give you some guidance. In my case, I called them when it became clear I was going to be a few hours short before ATP-CTP, and asked them if they wanted me to try to get it during ATP-CTP at a nearby flight school, or if I could just finish up the hours during the long break (which seemed both reasonable and practical). They were fine with me finishing it up during the break. I was short less than 10 hours.
