This is why I council all newbie pilots to stay the **** away from flight attendants. Be courteous and professional at all times on the job, but completely avoid associating with them on layovers and airport sits. Something about flight attendants can make the most mild-mannered pilot into a schizophrenic douchebag. No matter what was going on between them, he NEVER should have spit on or hit her. Now he has completely thrown away his airline career and will be lucky to fly cargo for one of the fly by night south Florida outfits.
