Quote: Why do some of the YX jets in AA paint have a dark grey square where "Operated by Republic" normally goes on the nose? Recently bought or soon to be sold?
Republic recently changed its name from Airline to Airways or vice-versa or something. The old name is covered until a new decal is pasted over it. Holy crap, you people really read into things too much.

Quote: Someone was talking about that kind of concept not too long ago. Allegedly, the AA scope limitation is limited to seats, not weight, so dropping to 65 seats for AA theoretically is as easy as removing seats.
United also needed to duck a max weight clause in its scope agreement, which is why the CRJ550 required a new certificate.
This concept was presented to us directly from BB when we where at HQ and someone asked what the plan was with the new order since all the majors are scoped out.

Quote: One of two things has to happen for Republic to take these planes...

1. Scope is relaxed by one of the majors.
2. A deal is worked out where the 69/70 seat E170s being flown for DL and UA are converted to 65 seats for AA. Similar to the CRJ550 (E165?). In that case the new planes would be E175SCs in a 70 seat config for UA and DL.

There are 59 E170s being flown for DL/UA so that would take up a significant amount of the order.

Southwest. Bank on it.

It’s plausible. They had to shelve their growth plans because of the Max. Also announced they’re suspending hiring indefinitely starting March. The EJet can serve most of their markets.

Last I heard it was ~ 20% replacement 80% expansion.

I'd imagine it would be hard to convince the big 3 to allow it since they own around 75% of the company and probably wouldn't want to help the competition. If we went public that could be a possibility

That’s a pretty neat stat. Where, exactly, is the expansion going to happen? And with what pilots?
