Well, Skywest did just issue a memo of no growth in the northwest and some other markets and focused growth in PHX and a couple other bases in the south/west (I think DFW was mentioned). Apparently YX management has been flying to the northwest pretty regularly with their eye on some Alaska flying. But those are rumors. I still revert back to what Bedford said in a memo months ago - that he sees Republic as a niche regional in the northeast... that says it all.

While it is discouraging that we closed IAH, something has to be said that we are still operating our United owned 175's, and they haven't been transferred to another regional carrier (for now); especially when anyone can staff them. This leads me to believe that United does have something planned for Republic down the line, maybe growth in EWR/ORD/IAD or even DEN again? Our IAD flying has picked up quite a bit ever since IAH closed, so it's all one big shuffle.
Management said it themselves, our Houston base never grew to what United claimed it would be, even before COVID hit.

Each one of those aircraft are either owned by Republic and/or the banks, so United can't just transfer those between Regionals willy nilly. You are right, United f'ckd over Republic on the IAH base so that is why when they offered a Denver base but only guaranteed a year of flying Republic said thanks but no thanks.
