Quote: Union sent out a notice of vote yesterday, supposed to hear bullet points of the deal today, and know the full language next week. Email sounded optimistic but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Anyone here more than 5 years is right to be cautious, as am I. But Republic doesn't want to be the only regional that furloughed close to 1k, downgraded 400, and closed 2 bases when this is all done. Terrible optics, and management knows that. Those exact words came straight from managements mouth when they came in to visit during recurrent. BB hates paying pilots to stay at home, but might be necessary to keep pilots around to keep a quick recovery possible if Delta ever decides to award rpa with more than 5k block hours...

Quote: SkyWest pilots are not scabs, they are leeches. They do nothing to contribute to the industry, but they take away from it. Teamsters, ALPA, IPA, APA, and SWAPA spend time and money on things like KCM, FFDO, fighting for secondary barriers, lobbying for the CARES Act, and other causes. SkyWest contributes nothing and yet they get to reap the benefits. They are a plague on the industry.
So they get all the benefits..... without paying their what, 1.8%......
Sounds like they're the smart ones....

What has ALPA done for regionals except keep the compensation low, to "pay your dues", so the single pot of money can be spent more for mainline pilots.....

Ya, maybe they’re the smart ones. All they have to deal with is a little bit of attitude from some regional pilots. And those are mostly the ones that Skywest has adversely affected in some way. As long as they continue walking straight ahead through the terminal with their unblinking stare they’ll be okay.

Maybe 9e has proven like you have here that it would be a waste to acknowledge you.

LOA bullet points sent out. Two different outcomes depending on PPP extention. Both have no furloughs and no downgrades. Going out for a vote this week.

Its definitely an interesting offer. Pilots not affected by downgrades or furloughs keep min guarantee, SVB of 50 hrs, and can pick up open time.

Pilots effected by downgrades and furloughs no SVB, can pick up open time with company approval (probably none), will have 10 days of duty per month with reduced min guarantee (CA-45hrs, FO 32.5hrs), keep benefits.

This will be lowering the bar below everyone except Gojet with their no min guarantee. Historically taking concessions never lead to preventing furloughs, but just delaying the inevitable. But at least it protects the top guys while still keeping everyone employed. If it passes it will be interesting to see how other airlines respond.
