You think the success of Delta in comparison to American has anything to do with the pilots?? It’s always been about management, no matter the industry.

It takes some longer than others to figure that out, but eventually it clicks.
Try telling certain Delta pilots that, be careful though, you might hurt their egos.

Well, I sit 3 feet to the right of them for about half the month and tend to gently inform only a few of that fact, of course, without ruining the “CRM” aspect.

I redact one of my previous statements though, now that I think of it, for some it never “clicks”.

Fair enough, I can respect that. Every airlines got them!

Market Planning January 2021

Daily Departures:
ATL: 52
DTW: 53
I wouldn’t get too excited, it seems more like Covid market shuffling than a base realignment. It’s not like ATL with an acceleration of a planned base closure.

Not true. Just went back on our market planning page and we did pre-covid.

When I left Endeavor, our CEO had mentioned the long term plan was to get Skywest to stay west and Republic/Endeavor to stay east with Republic mainly in NYC/BOS. Now post Covid I have no clue what the plan is but I would imagine it's similar that they want Skywest out west which makes sense seeing ATL closing and DTW shrinking and Covid just accelerated the plans to do that. Now where does Republic fit in with all this who knows, especially since NYC/BOS flying won't be back to scale for awhile.

Republic has contractual block minimums in their CPA. Without NYC and BOS flying they have to put them somewhere.

That's mostly true. YX did ATL-HHH pre-Covid. They also flew a few LEX legs to transition those planes between NYC to ATL.

True I forgot about HHH. I never understood why we didn’t do that on the 700. Still not nearly enough flying to justify base rumors.
