Default DEC Life

Any DEC’s here? Would like to know how it compares to leaving a previous airline. And how training went? The pros and cons and what people wish they knew. Would be living in base on the east coast.

You'll probably be abused on reserve for like 3-4 years

well that’s the same at most regionals and only planning on being there for a year. Better work rules and much better reserve QOL than my regional

Several things to consider

There’s no guarantee you’ll get DCA.
You’ll be in training 4-5 mo to get qualified before ever logging PIC
You’ll get a longevity match but leave with little or no $$ in your 401k

How long are captains waiting for IOE right now? I know our training is 2 weeks of ground and straight to sims and then maybe a couple weeks to wait for IOE, so much quicker to go sit reserve for 3 years 💀

Anyone that gives you a straight answer is lying as the company is in the process of moving to a new training facility including new simulators so no one can really say what the training footprint will be like in the coming months

Recruiters are saying 60 days for the training footprint.

Republic does not have a direct entry captain program. You will qualify as an FO then go through upgrade training.
