Can someone tell me how many weeks republics training period is? Also is it 5 days per week, full days? Are there any breaks during the training to possibly fly back home a few days? Thank you

It's not ~2 months all onsite. I was told it was a mix of online/at-home CBT study, in classroom training, procedure training and full motion SIM time. The SIM time could be any time 24/7 depending on scheduling with all the other RPA pilots from new hire to highest seniority number. But I didn't get the impression that you're stuck at the Brickyard hotel for all phases of training nonstop without any breaks. You are non-rev so you can fly home as much as you want as long as you make it to your scheduled training times onsite.

If they are still doing the at-home systems study: 2 weeks INDOC, home for 2 week self study, then back to the training center for procedure training, flat panel training, sims. Procedure training was 5 days straight. Flat panel & sims can be a mix of multiple days straight or broken up with 1-3 days between. If it’s been 30 days and you wanna try to non-rev, you can, but in this climate I would advise against it. Flights are full and you could very well be stuck, unable to get back. That is not a conversation you want to have (in my opinion).

FYI, Non-Rev benefits do not activate until 30 days on property (if I remember correctly) and your CASS approval (ability to jumpseat in the flight deck) will not be active until after you pass your LOE (checkride).

Do you get paid by Republic while in training? Trying to see how much I need to save in case I don't get paid between my current job and training at Republic

Yes, but I do not know the current pay scale for training. It used to be $1,800 flat rate for your first 30 days, then 70hrs credit each month after that (or something close). Hopefully someone new will chime in to help further.

I don’t recall the actual timeline but Indoc is about a week and they send you home for systems. There could be a delay before sims are available, for us it was about a month.

I STRONGLY recommend you do not try and fly home once flat panel and sim training starts. You need to eat, breathe, and sleep the airplane and nothing else. You need that time to recover, and study. Call your family and say hi, but don’t go home. It eats up a lot of time and it’s a huge distraction. The one guy I know who flew home over a weekend during sims failed his LOE on the first try.

Pay is 1,800 the first month then something more but I'm not sure if it's regular wages.

this is accurate as of September 2022. Unless it’s since changed.

What? You don't get monthly guarantee in training? Where does $1,800 come from? Should be closer to $6000

This and the contract makes it really hard to accept an offer from RPA. $1,800 is ridiculous in this climate
