If you go to shuttle you can replace your company manuals with a kindle fire but you still need to carry your jepps. However you can downsize the jepps by carrying only the company required airports. If you use a regular sized flight case this will leave plenty of room to pack a nice lunch pack inside.

I was hired in Feb and just found out I'll be getting ATL in Oct. So it is possible with all of the movement for the Q400s. I'll probably be on reserve forever (or until it closes)...but I live there.

S5 as a whole is really junior. If and when a contract comes, expect mass exodus of 145 FO's to come over to the 170. At the moment I would rank my class preferences as follows. Q400, CHQ, S5 then republic. (Remember republic is tied to the 190's. F9 is in a holding pattern so we are hiring to cover attrition only.)
I thought people didn't go from one certificate to another. Is this expected to change? Any guesses as to when they might get that contract finished? Could I ask for a Shuttle class instead of the Republic one assigned or is that pointless?
