There is one session left this year, thus no CBA for quite a while. You'd be surprised how much of a pay cut we've been taking here. With hard pay rates and soft money you can make 1.5+ times what you would make here at other carriers and upgrade nearly twice as fast. Don't get excited about Q deliveries because they really aren't significant net growth yet.

Many people here would rather strike than get a TA out of mediation. I'm sure the NC wants to negotiate an agreement in good faith but I think as pilots we have to strike.
1. Without a strike, we'll never believe we got the best deal available.
2. We MUST show the company there is a cost to dragging out negotiations for years beyond the date the CBA became amendable [even if we are responsible for some of the delay].
It is a good thing I'm not at the table... If released, I'd tell the company "we'll see you on day 31. And, oh we're negotiating all 25 articles now [not just the 4 we are currently negotiating]."
This is a common sentiment. Thus, I think it may be longer than we care to admit, before we actually get a CBA. We'll definitely hit 6 years and very likely more.

Did anyone read the thread in the majors section about the Skywest FO wondering if he should leave for JetBlue? The lucky SOB is making 60-70k a year. Jesus tap dancing Christ, why would you even sniff at Republic? The company wants to top our FOs out at 45k, in a new contract that isn't even on the horizon! Learn from the mistakes of the hundreds of topped out RAH FOs. Go somewhere where your talents are valued. $36.62 isn't enough to fly a regional jet...
