Quote: You didn't hear it from me. My crystal ball doesn't lie, check back at the end of the year. Ask some of the ExpressJet pilots hired in the last couple years if they are still on reserve. You will be surprised, some are on reserve more than 2 years.

On the L-Xjet side they are hiring 32 a month for the rest of the year. If your hired on the front end of that you will not be on reserve for 2 years. I was hired on the ASA side last October and had a line for last month and this month. You don't know what your talking about when it comes to ExpressJet.

Consider yourself lucky. The guys and gals hired just before and after you have and will suffer the wrath of ASA reserve. It's terrible!! I was a 2010 hire and it took me 2.5 years to get a line. I guess it depends on where you're based and how many they hire this year!

I mean that's OK, just tell the poor guy or gal that.
Spoken like a typical F9 pilot.

Depends on where you're based as far as RAH. I'm 5+ years - still on reserve on the Republic certificate.

I would choose ExpressJet. Better pay and management has got to be better than Republic. Republic domiciles open, close, open again, and close again. BUF, RIC, GRR, MCO, FLL, CVG, DEN, GSO and on and on. Management at Republic does not care about its employees and they are great at union busting tactics. 5+ years in contract negotiations and not any closer than year 1.

If you think your gonna get a whim upgrade at republic your fooling yourself. It will still be at least five to seven years for te new hires now

47 planes, mea a around 500 upgrades. There's no way that a new hire will upgrade in less than 5 years.

I don't fly for RAH, but that's just common sense. My roommate is on Xjet EMJ side and will be holding a line next month, he's been there 1.5 years.

Quote: No, ExpressJet will take that much or more out of your paycheck on a regular basis because the payroll department is criminally incompetent (at least on the ERJ side).
Redbird,

Just curious, before the ATL folks took over your payroll was it ever screwed up by the HOU folks?

Most regionals have 6 captains per aircraft, so RAH would upgrade 250 or so captains over the next 2 1/2 years to cover the AMR attrition. Not 500, just helping you prove your point.

like the other guy said.... You are a troll. Next month will make it 2 years for me at XJT . I am ORD based (senior for FO's) and I spent 6 months on reserve . the last seniority bid that came out I moved up twenty numbers in company . I wouldn't expect reserve times to keep running over a year too much longer with attrition . Like others have said if you are chasing a quick upgrade RAH if you want a much better QOL XJT. If bases would work out for you at both companies, I would def go with the XJT 145 class.
