How awesome is it that the head of the IBT is named James Hoffa? I thought this was a joke for the longest time until I found out that is actually his name. The head of a Union named James Hoffa.

Please tell me his friends call him Jimmy.

Glad to see Republic has a union with a sac. All alpo can do is sign off on crummy TAs.

I disagree. Flew with so many lifers who weren't planning on going anywhere. It's gonna come back around to bite them in the arse. A 10 year CA pay cap needs to happen (not including COL yearly increases) in order for 3-8 year CAs to be paid appropriately. This is a regional, not a home for life.

This line of thinking is the problem. A regional pilot shouldn't have to move on just to get paid a livable wage. We operate $50mil airplanes loaded with mainline pax into and out of major hubs. Why can't this be a "home for life"? If people want to move on to a major and go that route fine...but with a place like RAH that is so successful, they can certainly invest some money to make this a company to retire at for those who so desire.

Stop undervaluing yourself. Sac up and get the pay you deserve.

That might be the idea for some people, but you understand that if regional pay scales go up to mainline levels, regionals will disappear quicker as there will be no need for them. I think this idea is better than the one where you keep voting for poverty pay and expanding regionals while people struggle to get a mainline job.

Exactly. If it's too expensive mainline will be forced to absorb the flying, or cut their routes. And while posting billion dollar profits it would be difficult to explain a cut to investors.

No, your line of thinking is the problem. Lifers are the problem. If you're one of them, then I can see why you think that.

He's saying you don't need 21 years of steps. Years 11-21 should be 1-10, but who along with the company who else wouldn't like that? The sub lifers have to fight the company and the union to get a raise.
