thanks for the info, did you go straight from indoc to systems or did you have a break?

There was a travel day, then a two-day break, then class. Those who could do so went home. Those who chose to stay in Indy were flown by the company to St. Louis on travel day.

I've been out of RAH for about 6 months, but in my year on the line there at Shuttle in LGA not once did I sit airport reserve nor do I know anyone who has. It was in the contract, but never used. With the new TA, I'm not sure how things have changed with that and long-call.

I don't believe they could use ready reserve under the old CBA, unless they allowed you to return home to get a bag. I never saw ready reserve as a Captain or FO. I'm sure they fixed this oversight in the new CBA, so you will probably see some ready reserve time. Best to take a look at the current CBA.

Any guess how long before you could hold a line?

It depends on what base your in. The more undesirable bases i.e LGA, EWR etc. Maybe less then a year. Also this was before the new contract so don't quote me on that.

With how things are going in EWR/LGA (new base and growing), you would have a line in your first complete month after your training. JFK is E145 only and unlikely you'd get it at this point. Long-call is 10% across the whole E170 fleet, but no guarantees which bases will get it in a given month. Proffering for trips is a new term for me, so you'll have to explain before I could answer that.

Bump - any updates on how long reserve would be at IND CMH PIT?

Also I re-read the thread but I could not find how long St. Louis Systems and Sim is...

Not trying to build the plane before I go, but am doing the flash cards, seems like a great plane.

What hotels in St. Louis?

Thanks

For ground, 8 days in IND (with a weekend in the middle) then 3 weeks in St Louis for Systems (15 days of school with 2 weekends in between). I don't have my sim schedule yet so not sure.
