The comments in the articles are priceless. All the way down to 9/11 conspiracy vindication, I love the internet.

They bring up the same holes in the theory that the forum members have pointed out - I thought it more of a semantics issue than anything wrong with what is being claimed.

The author is claiming the ability o change certain aspects of the FMS - which may or may not be accurate; but I didn't read the article in a way saying thathe could hack into the airplane's system and override the A/P or actually change the flight prameters (no kidding taking control of the aircraft and flying it in a different manner)

I know people in the "hacking world" and this is very possible. What a lot of people don't realize are hackers actually hack to show security flaws in a lot of cases.
If they were bad guys, they would never announce how they did things.

Back to the issue, there are serious flaws in the new systems.

What the hacker can do is make planes disappear off the screens or add planes that ATC is working...so let me clarify what I mean before

That little "execute" light on the FMC tends to destroy the hacker's premise.

What a colossal waste of time on his part. Buying crap off eBay and then claiming he can remote-control a 747...

This means the pilots no longer have to be aboard. They can fly the aircraft from home. Ought to save the company money.
