Default 787 on fire again

LHR closed down due to Ethiopian 787 catching on fire at a remote stand with no people on board.

Old sparky is at it again...

Visible burn marks over aft galley.

Also a Thompson 787 returned to Manchester with an undisclosed problem. Could be benign, but in the report as well.

Thanks. Shortly after I posted I saw an official tweet from Boeing. WSJ is reporting that this is ET-AOP, which was the first 787 to return to service after the grounding.

"Fire-retardant foam appeared to have been sprayed at the airliner, but no damage was immediately apparent."

Except of course for the burn marks above the aft galley.

Anyone know where the batteries in question are located? That doesn't seem like the normal, accessible location for most a/c batteries.

If this isn't battery related after all, that is some seriously bad luck on the first flight after the grounding (mostly for Boeing).

I seem to remember the batteries being down below, just behind the wing.

Regardless, fire damage to the composite structure, that plane aint' goin' nowhere.
