Having never flown jumpers from a formation of airplanes before, for those in the know (civilian operations), are these briefed as a flight of two aircraft or are these two planes suppose to be separate from each other (2 separate aircraft not acting as a flight of two) and the jumpers are suppose to meet up for the formation once clear from their respective dumps?

Fascinating video though and I'm glad there were no fatalities.

It's done, I wouldn't say it's the norm. Ideally if you want a large formation drop, get a large airplane.

The video is insane. Seeing the burning pieces of plane number 1 just falling out of the sky is crazy. What a crazy thing to experience. I'm surprised the one skydiver that was outside before they collided didn't get seriously injured in his back.

What a ride.

So thankful all survived. Skilled group, including pilots. But I still can't understand how this happened. What was the trailing pilot looking at? Must have been distracted, but should have been looking at the bearing and closure on the lead aircraft. Had these two pilots done this before? Did they pre brief? Unexcusable!

Inexcusable is correct. Not so skilled pilot(s) to allow this to occur. Just a fact.
