Default Oceana F18 Crash; Pilot Recovered

VIRGINIA BEACH -- An F/A-18E single-seat hornet pilot was recovered safely after ejecting from his aircraft during a training mission off the Virginia Beach coast Wednesday.
The pilot was recovered by a fishing vessel, officials said. The pilot was conscious when he was recovered.
The jet is part of Oceana-based VFA-143 squadron attached to Carrier Air Wing 7.
The USCG says they were called around 2:30 p.m. to look for Navy aircraft debris about 45 miles from Virginia Beach.
USCG Cutter Albacore and Elm were heading to the scene, officials said.

Detailed correction to the news report concerning the crash last year of the Hornet into the apartment complex. It was not the same kind - but close enough for the general public!
