Default Citation Crash

Citation Crash
A Cessna Citation twin-engine jet on Friday crashed on departure from the San Fernando Valley airport, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.

This type of passenger jet typically carries four to eight passenger, plus the pilots. There were also reports that the remains of two individuals have been recovered at the scene, FOX News has learned.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Office said it first got the call about the crash at 10:53 a.m. local time (1:53 p.m. EST). The crash was described as one of high impact.

Eyewitnesses said they heard a large 'boom,' then power briefly went out in the neighborhood on the north side of the airport near where the plane went down.

The aircraft was flying to Long Beach, about 25 miles south of Los Angeles

Anybody see the nutjob they interviewed that said that he saw the pilot jump out of the plane 40 feet before it crashed, but it still crashed on him?

They're reporting now that a nose cargo-door was open on T/O and that the plane was slow, just above stall speed, before crashing (according to a pilot on the ground).

All I saw on the news was a smoking hole in the ground; must have been high-impact, but I believe the pilots tried to miss nearby houses and buildings.

Tragic accident; but noone cares and it is off the front page because there were only two pilots who died.
