Just wonder what the furlough history is like at Southern, I recently interviewed with Southern and Tradewinds, trying to decide.

I believe they furloughed once in the past. Nothing recently though.

If I were deciding between Southern & TDX, I would take Southern everyday and twice on Sunday.

I don't work at Southern either. Never have, but no a lot of people who have worked at both places.

southern is getting -400's correct? probably better for your career to have that 400 type for when that place goes under, then you can go fly in asia somewhere

Some places just fire instead and technically they haven't furhloughed. I've seen it. Southern is a half notch above TDX from what my buddies at each say.

What he said. Southern is not getting 400's. But if i were a PFE getting out of the military and had only those two options. I would go with Southern. Not saying Southern is the be all end all, but Southern is definitely a better place to work than TDX. Now that Southern has hired RS Consultants out of Atlanta to do their scheduling, things should be pretty good at Southern and getting better. I think SAI pays more too.

Are they (SAI) still on-tap to get 777s?

The people who own a majority stake in SAI (Oak Hills Investments) have secured an order from Boeing for 6 777F an options for 2 more.

Will they end up at Southern???

Who knows.

My bet is Oak Hill will end up selling those slots to the highest bidder.
