Quote: It means a guy with a seniority number of 6900 has 31 guys bidding 717 Captain who are senior to him.

You won't have to worry about that for another 5 years, so don't sweat it.
5 years would sound sweet to me compared to the stagnation those of the last 15 years had to endure. It will be mind blowing (in a good way) if/when I see a DL captain with 5 years service.

Mr Kreeger signalled that the competition on transatlantic routes would hot up as the carrier planned to add seven new flights between Heathrow and major US cities, taking its peak daily services to 39 from the current 32.

Virgin was also enjoying better returns from its new Boeing 787s, the first of which began operation in October. It now has three of the more fuel efficient long haul passenger jets operating from Heathrow to US destinations.

Well, in 1992 we had 6 year guys flying DC9 and MD88 Capt. Without the huge retirement wave you are going to see in the next 5 years.

And that my friends, is why Delta doesn't have to buy any 787's.

We already own 49% of Virgins 787's!

Last bid had at least one that I know of, and I think it was a few more, 07 hire's make CA NYC88. We're at seven years. Seven and change anyway.

It's possible you will see that this week.
Quote: Please forgive the ignorance. What do these 2 posts mean to us newbies?
It means we our seniority number is 69XX and there are 31 people senior to me bidding the position, with 21 of them making it their first choice and XX second choice. Theres a way to check in crew.

It does not show qualifiers though (I want to be 50% up the list, etc) so its not always the most accurate way to see if you will hold a certain position.

So this is why we can't have nice things?

NYCM88A actually fell down to 2008 hires, salute them, because soon they'll go mano-a-mano against the fiercest creature in the concrete jungle of LaGaurdia.
