Quote: Correct-The most junior fo going from NYC 900 to ATL 200 is a July 24 hire and complete with training.

Do you meet all of the qualifications to upgrade to captain? 2500 hours, 1000 121 hours? If so definately reach out to crew staffing because it looks like someone from the very last class assigned jfk900 fo was awarded atl 200.
I do meet all the times..4500tt, 1050 121. I have reached out to crew staffing. Thank you.

Quote: Really happy to see every base now available to new hires except msp. Nice to advertise DTW and ATL in addition to NYC outta training.
Yes very nice but it seems the trend has been every other class being 900 only. With the new 18 month seat lock for new hires, someone who wants ATL but comes in for a class that is 900 only will have to wait several months in NYC while a guy or gal in the class behind them may be awarded atl 200 right off the bat.

You're welcome. Hope it works out for you. several of the NYC 200 ca positions went unfilled so maybe they can at least get you assigned to an upgrade class.

For what it is worth, we were told in ground school that the initial company assignment does not count towards the seat lock. If we move from the initial equipment award, then the lock starts from the “new” award.

How many new hires got DTW? Is this a trend that may continue or is this a fluky thing for some reason? I was told like last week that it would take 8 months to a year to get into DTW. Did they increase flying or did a bunch of peeps decide to leave the base?

This is correct for now but changing with the new contract. Exception being upgrades (like 900 fo to 200 ca).

Here are the positions available for new hires as it stands. Remember though this is the initial award, final comes out in a week to know for sure.

Jfk 900 fo 65
Lga 900 fo 70
Jfk 200 fo 14
Lga 200 fo 22
Atl 200 fo 29
Dtw 200 fo 34

Dtw 900 is doubling in size by this summer. Expect this to continue as more senior fos move from the 200 to the 900. I believe the days of waiting in NYC for a spot in dtw are over. For now.

Just out of curiosity where did you see that DTW was doubling? If true that's great news.

Email sent out a week or two ago from the company stated how big they projected each base to be by the summer

Similar but off topic question to those that have already upgraded.

For those of us that did get the upgrade is there anything we need to do before the final award? (ex proving flight hours)
