So how hard is the 217.5 hour requirement now? Those relatively new hires awarded 900 FO to 200 CA upgrade will be lucky to get half those hours within the next 2.9 months (sitting reserve in Dec at least).

The hours posted on the award are just an indication of how low the company is going to find qualified captains, beyond that there is no need to get the 217.5 hours it’s just the number the company came up with.

Just to give everyone an idea of how junior this captain award went, A person was awarded upgrade with actually no company time at this moment. They were hired in the last october class (that class shouldn’t be out of ground school until next week). That person was less than 20 from the bottom of the entire Seniority list at the time the notice was published 3 weeks ago. We aren’t at street captains yet, but damn we are close.
