Default 17-05

Can someone help me understand 17-05. If I have ATL and DTW 200 FO on my standing bid, how can I not have been awarded it and the company says there are positions available, but for new hires?

Also, if the 1000 company time for CA was reduced to 217.5, how can a new hire with zero company time have been awarded an upgrade to CA

Thanks.

Are you in training and on the 900? If so you can't switch airplanes till after you have completed OE.

I have no clue how they came up with the 217.5 cause that is false. There is people with only OE time that upgraded.

Thanks for the reply. I am in training (sims) and on the 900. I see several on the list junior to me (so they are in training too) that went from 900 to 200 so I don’t understand how we can’t switch as you say. Also the 217.5 is printed right on the award so that’s not false.

Any idea who to contact about this?

The company can award 75 hours a month from the time of the award to the beginning of the average upgrade class in the award towards the company and total time. The company projects the average upgrade class to start in 2.9 months...

I'm not sure who you're seeing on the award who is going from 900 fo to 200 fo while still in training. 900 fo trainee to 200 ca upgrade yes but no lateral moves 900 fo to 200 fo for trainees as far as I can see. guys junior to you must have come in with previous 121 time.

Look at the ATL awards. Several going from 900 FO to 200 FO. Those are senior to me so I am assuming they are out of training.
More importantly I am asking why a junior person would have went from NYC FO to ATL CA and I was bypassed if I meet all the upgrade times and my standing bid was indicating ATL CA.
I have previous 121 and previous 9e time in excess of the 217.5.
I am just trying to get an understanding. Thanks.

Fogot to mention that there is a guy that is behind me in training on the 900 and was awarded a 200 CA..so if we can’t switch during training, how can this be?

Correct-The most junior fo going from NYC 900 to ATL 200 is a July 24 hire and complete with training.

Do you meet all of the qualifications to upgrade to captain? 2500 hours, 1000 121 hours? If so definately reach out to crew staffing because it looks like someone from the very last class assigned jfk900 fo was awarded atl 200.

Email the CrewStaffing office and ask. You will likely get a better answer from them than on here. And if that answer doesn’t seem legit, reach out to ALPA. Their contract experts would get things set straight I am sure.
