It will be a slippery slope. You'll have people who will get pregnant to avoid work and still get paid, just like what happens in the Military to avoid deployments.
And this isn't the military. Many reputable corporations provide up to 6 months of paid time off for women and 1 month for men. Not one corporation has been worried about abuse because they treat their employees with respect. No one in their right mind would spend 6 months on paid leave and intentionally get pregnant again and again to collect a check.
