And ATL goes more and more senior...
Quote: Man why is the ER so junior in NYC? I got displaced off the 88B in ATL to the ER in NYC and I'm below 11,900
Quote: Because it is somewhat difficult to commute to reserve up there. But, congratulations, you will LOVE the jet, where it goes and the pay raise. When Air France implodes, you'll be in a good spot.
Quote: It flies domestic, covers 3 airports, has expensive hotels, expensive transport, expensive food. Other than those, if you get a nice refrigerator box and set it up next to a mcdonalds dumpster, foodstamps might get you through.

It doesn't seem like they did a very good job at averting a huge training footprint.
Quote: Yeah wow, people getting displaced to it from everywhere. And a fair number NYC7ERB using a VD to get elsewhere.

To me, it's the early sign-in in LGA and late checkouts. It's the 10.5 hour three day trips. It's expensive hotels/crashpad/transportation in the New York City area.

OMG!!! What have I done to myself!!!!!
Quote: It sure seems like this company likes to waste money with excessive training events...7 new upgrade events to the 9.

12 month conversion window. More DC-9 displacements to follow. They might not ever go.

I saw you on there. Wondering the same thing myself

Looks like quite a few behind you though. If you can hold a line, then maybe not such a bad deal. If I get bumped into commuting on the next bid, I may seriously consider NYC for the relative seniority bump.

Yep. Hoping I can hang onto the base until 2017 when the "pilot shortage" arrives
Quote: wow displacements. I was displaced to the DC9, do you think they will train me on it even though they are getting rid of them?
I think between the 12 month conversion window. More DC9 displacements imminent, more -90's on the way, and no hiring next year there are probably a fair amount on this award that are not done moving yet even before they ever go to training especially for those low on the totem pole.

It probably depends on each situation. Which aircraft your getting displaced from/going to, how senior you are, what happened to others in your category, etc .

In the same boat, but mandatory for myself

Which means I'm locked & you're not.

No. You stay in ATL.
