PSA Pay and Benefits

Here is a thread for just pay and benefits.

I'll start off with training pay.

As a new hire, you get 75 hours credit a month at your FO pay rate, plus per diem 24/7.

Per diem is currently $42/day. So, when you are in class in Dayton, you receive $42/day for the entire time (even weekends and days off), plus the 75 hours of pay.

The hourly rate changes, but it currently $38.88/hour.

$38.88x75= $2,916.00
$42x30= $1,260.00

So, training pay is $4,176 for a month. You get this in addition to any new hire bonuses.

All training is single occupancy hotel, and they are provided by the company.

Again, there is no training contract.

Current Blended Rates

Note: We get paid based on our fleet composition. As we add more 700's (or 900's), we get paid a little more per hour. This is calculated every quarter. We also get other annual pay raises as is described in our contract.

Note: FO pay was recently changed. All first year FO's got bumped up to "year 3" pay, which is now at $38.88. All FOs on property more than 1 year are on what used to be year 4 pay ($40.28). So, even though there are no pay rates after the second year, you are already getting what the year 4 rates would have been.

Year... Captain Pay......... F/O Pay
1....... $65.55 ......... $38.88
2....... $68.43 ......... $40.28
3....... $70.27
4....... $73.24
5....... $75.42
6....... $77.69
7....... $79.33
8....... $81.68
9....... $84.21
10...... $86.69
11...... $89.26
12...... $91.90

So with the captain pay, for the sake of conversation, if you upgrade right at 24 months, will your captain pay rate be $68.43, or will it be the year 1 captain pay rate of $65.55?

Also, thanks for going the extra mile (or 10), that you do to provide all of the great info about the ins and outs of the company.

Your longevity carries over. Year 2 upgrade, year 2 pay.

I have a question on pay dates and pay periods.
I believe it says somewhere the paychecks are twice a month (the 1st and 15th presumably).
When does the pay period end?
If it's a week before, then a class date on the 8th would have a first paycheck on June 1st for covering ~ 1 week and first "full" paycheck June 15th?
Thanks

We're paid on the 5th and the 20th. The 5th check has half of the prior month's guarantee, while the 20th has half of the current month's guarantee plus any per diem and overages due from the previous month. In your scenario you should technically get paid on the 20th right after you start, however you usually aren't in payroll that quickly so your 5th check would include the normal half guarantee plus whatever you would have been paid on the prior 20th.

Anyone at Psa know how long medical benefits take to kick in and what monthly premiums are for a decent plan? Thanks.

90 days from DOH, and the benefits are on par with most insurance plans. There's and A Plan and a B Plan. I chose the B plan, as it's a lower monthly cost (like $324 per month).
