I second the Bose/UFlyMike combo.

Weren’t they supposed to have added a hot mic switch? Or did I just dream that?

Quote: I will however happily suggest the Avee microphone kit. Made by a Norwegian company that produces add ons for a few headsets including the QC25 and 35. Mine has lasted for several years and the fit and finish is bar none. Several people have asked me which model Bose aviation headset I was wearing.

Great warranty/customer service as well, they have sent me a cord free of charge when I stupidly cut it through my own fault.
I second this. I bought an Avee headset several years when they first introduced the product. They were a startup company and initially had some production issues, but they fixed the issues and sold me on their business with customer service that was above and beyond anything I hoped for. My first mic didn’t quite fit snug in my Bose QC25, so they sent me a replacement but unfortunately that had the same issue. I contacted them a second time and they were extremely apologetic and promised to investigate the issue. After some research they discovered what was causing the issue and changed their manufacturing line to fix the problem. A few months later I got a new mic, a new cord, and was promised the Bluetooth cord when it came out. The Bluetooth device took about a year longer but when they sent it, they sent me their Bluetooth cord a whole new headset and the travel case.

Yep, I believe the FCIF said by 2020? They still have 29 days

Do your 757/767s have the hot mic switch? Only our newest 767s have them at UPS. Would be nice if they would retrofit the rest of the airplanes. It’s one of those little things that makes a big difference.

New planes come from Boeing without hot mic - we were told the fleet is going to be retrofitted.

I tried the Bose QC35 with UFly and I hated it. Was way to flimsy. Then went to the A20s which were great but a little big and now have the ProFlight. Amazing...

Been using the Bose proflight2 for a few months. Very light and 3 levels of sound reduction. Can select only one ear for radio. Also has Bluetooth option which pauses when atc transmits. Bit of a learning curve getting used to dangly earbuds but better than over ear muffs. Case is massive so looking for a more packable but protective option

Bulletin on the iPad says AC 188 & beyond will come with the new switch.

Did you find a more packable solution?

No. Haven’t tried too hard yet though as Dealing with the big ass case at post flight probably keeps me from leaving the headset behind.
