Quote: Wonder why union leadership is silent on this?
This topic was the very first thing on yesterday's (29 Jun) IPNN, written by the IPA Pension Counsel.

Quote: Wonder why union leadership is silent on this? Nevermind, going to get assulted for asking the question by the same guys on the Bar and Grill. Almost 13 years and nothing has changed.
You won't be asulted, but you are wrong.

Try making a statement on the Bar & Grill that goes remotely against the grain of the few who regularly post and see what happens. While I think the current EB has done a good job, change is not a bad thing. We are in need of more transparency, some interesting things going on behind the scenes.

You do realize there are things that shouldn't be shared with the membership. They do have our best interests in mind despite the claims otherwise.

Yeah like Harry T getting a full 60k bouns when he didn't even have a medical since he doesn't fly the line, yeah transparency would be a good thing!

On Jan 1, 2017 two brand new, never before, line pilots took roles as EB members, a 40 % turnover of the EB. That's not insignificant change.
One is up this year, if changed, would be a 60% change of the EB in just over 12 months.

Where was it hidden? EB members not required to fly. Should transparency apply to discipline cases? Non disclosure agreements signed so EB can negotiate more effectively? Constitution and Bylaws are a good read. EB follows the C&B's and policies set forth within the authority of the C&B's.
Interesting that folks believe the EB and line pilot negotiator members should not have received a signing bonus. EB rarely flew as did some of the line pilots involved. I think the line knew this fact for many years. Just trying to follow the logic.

Could be the opposite like the EB member who was flying open time (not during a ban) while he worked more than the EB minimum of 14 days month.

The interesting thing about that election was the process. Look at what happened when CH ran against TK. He was persona non grata. After that, who would run for election against the EB?

Fast forward, two candidates who worked hand in hand with the EB are nominated and run unopposed. Why would they run against the current EB after what CH went through. Could be because the 2 outgoing EB members didn't announce they weren't running for re-election until after nominations had closed, but the 2 running for office probably knew this.

Nothing personal Salty Dog, just the appearance of cronyism that has run rampant at ALPA.

....
CH is still doing fantastic work as JS Chair, was asked during that time to become the CAPA JS Chair by the EB. Certainly the EB did not treat him as persona non grata IMO.
