I didn't think it was good tactics for CH to run. And didn't he come out and say he was running more for the point of running vs a strong desire to hold that seat? Regardless, if people didn't run because of CH's experience, then good. If they couldn't handle the attacks of the membership they would have gotten eaten alive by the brown machine.

Agreed needs to go. JS Would be better despite what the great role model ZM says. But we will probably get NK's bed buddy in there and all will be well again in the Fern Valley brotherhood.

Crewmembers are eligible for the flat dollar benefit under the 2016 TA as follows:
1. The flat dollar benefit is guaranteed for crewmembers who will reach age 60 before
December 31, 2023 (almost 2.5 years after the amendable date).4
This is true even if a
new contract is ratified before that date which reduces or eliminates the flat dollar benefit
going forward.
2. If a new contract has not been ratified as of December 31, 2023, the guarantee period will
be extended by 3 years to cover crewmembers who will reach age 60 before December
31, 2026 (almost 5.5 years after the amendable date).
3. If a new contract has still not been ratified as of December 31, 2026 (almost 5.5 years
after the amendable date), crewmembers will still get the flat dollar benefit if they reach
age 60 before the next contract is ratified.

Sounds a bit like your current CBA - get that FDA written in ink for the few that will retire under it and give absolutely zero improvements in retirement to all the rest. Not looking so smart right now.

So let's see you can delay negotiations and help out the very few amount of members that would benefit by extending the FDA clause at the detriment to the rest of the crew force that would want improvements.

As for our current CBA...half the pilot group on property when Contract 2016 was ratified will turn 60 by 31 Dec 2023, entitling them to retire with Flat Dollar Amount. If we end up with another "ten year contract", the percentage eligible for flat dollar amount under the LOA would be north of 65%. Of course this might dictate some retiring earlier than desired to secure the benefit depending on negotiation outcome and timing...but in the event of such outcome (unlikely IMO), at least many will have a choice.
Regulatory retirements by governmental alphabets like IRS and ERISA that make extending a flat dollar amount beyond "life of the contract" exceedingly difficult if not practically impossible...not that such reality matters to some.
Age 65 retirements start a decade-long wave in 2024; demographics will dictate retention (if not improvement) of the flat dollar retirement as a main priority in the next contract.
The retirement sky ain't falling.

JS over BT? Wow. What criteria could you possibly come up with to arrive at that conclusion????? So far JS has done nothing but promise gold on B-side issues with zero intel on how he proposes to do it or who he plans to replace while at the same time starting a smear campaign in an attempt to better position himself. He's already lost my vote and he hasn't even officially kicked off his campaign yet. And have you ever talked to NK or DB? Pretty smart guys. We are lucky to have DB VOLUNTEERING for us on grievance. Why exactly are you childishly referring to them as butt buddies?
